La Coursive
Before being a theater, La Coursive had several lives. Indeed, it went from a convent in the 17th century to a tobacco factory in the 18th century. Then, when it became the property of the city of La Rochelle, the hall was transformed into a fish market. It is only in the 1970s that La Coursive became a cultural center, its inauguration took place in February 1982. It then became the National Stage of La Rochelle in 1990.
To this day, La Coursive has 3 rooms:
– The Salle Bleue which has a capacity of 281 seats.
– The Grand Théâtre which can accommodate 997 people.
– The Théâtre Verdière with its 385 seats.

Located in the district of La Pallice, La Sirène is the largest music concert hall in La Rochelle. It was opened in 2011 after more than two years of rehabilitation work.
It now has 2 halls with a capacity of 1270 and 420 seats respectively. La Sirène also offers its subscribers the possibility to work on their compositions thanks to its 5 recording studios and its studio control room. One of the main values of the venue is to give everyone a chance and to encourage amateurs. Every year, it hosts L’Hisséo, the musical meeting of the high schools of La Rochelle.
