The hotel*** François 1er is a 3 star hotel, located in the heart of the city of La Rochelle. It is easily accessible and has a private car park as well as direct access to the city centre of La Rochelle. But how to get there? What are the transport options for getting to La Rochelle and in particular to our hotel ?
Where is our hotel located in La Rochelle ?
The hotel*** François 1er is located at 15 rue Bazoges in La Rochelle, in La Rochelle old town. Rue Bazoges is a street that runs perpendicular to one of the busiest streets in the city centre, the one that leads to the Grande-Horloge. Passing through the Grande-Horloge gate, you will arrive at the Vieux-Port, the emblem of La Rochelle.
Our hotel is in the centre of La Rochelle, only a few metres from Place Verdun. It is from this square that you will visit all the typical small streets of La Rochelle. Place Verdun is also very well served by the city buses.
How to reach our hotel in La Rochelle ?
There are several ways to get to our hotel in La Rochelle : car, train, plane or other public transport. We will see below the different ways to get to the hotel depending on the transport you use.
Travelling by car ?
Most parking spaces in the centre of La Rochelle are subject to a charge and their use is limited in time. To simplify your stay, our hotel in La Rochelle old town has a private and secure car park. This car park is available on reservation at the rate of 15€ per day and 20€ in summer. We invite you to inform us if you wish to reserve one of our parking spaces in our hotel in La Rochelle. This solution will allow you to leave your car in our car park throughout your stay, in complete safety.
As the hotel is located in the city centre, you will be able to get around on foot or by bike. The Vieux-Port and all its bars and restaurants are only a few minutes walk from the hotel.
Travelling by train ?
La Rochelle station is very close to the city centre and therefore to our hotel.
If you wish to reach our hotel on foot, you will have to walk 10 minutes. You will pass below the Grande Roue and walk along part of the Vieux-Port to the Quai Duperré.
Alternatively, you can take the bus to the centre of La Rochelle. Afterwards, you will only need to walk for a few minutes. To plan your public transport routes, we invite you to download the Yelo and Modalis applications. The Modalis application will allow you to consult the public transport available on your route.
Travelling by plane ?
If you are travelling by plane, the airport is slightly out of the centre of La Rochelle. It is located a few kilometres from our hotel*** François 1er. You can take a taxi which will take about 10 minutes to reach the hotel.
The second solution is to take the bus, a line goes to the place de Verdun. The bus will drop you off just a few metres from our hotel in La Rochelle old town.
